There are three ranks within the Demon Hierarchy. The first rank is for those that belong to royalty and have the most power. These are not given but earned through birth and marriage, some have even been granted through special rituals. The second rank is earned by impressing and showing loyalty to the first rank. They follow whatever the first rank says. The third rank is essentially peasants and those that have been given a rank by the second class.
First Rank
(Must be bought, adopt a child or sibling, or married in)
High Emperor/Empress (2)
This is the current leader of the demon realm. They are a married couple, but typically the one who was born from the previous leaders is the one who holds higher authority than the other. They can be overthrown but only by those of the first rank. This process is quite tricky and is usually never done unless those of the first rank back up the coupe. The overthrowing is more political than warlike. Those that sit on the thrown have the most power.
Demonlord (1)
These are the second in command. Typically a sibling or in-law of the Emperor/Empress. They hold the second most power. In line for the thrown if the Emperor/Empress do not produce a heir, or die without having an heir.
Count/Countess (oo)
These are relatives and in-laws to both the Demonlord and High Emperor/Empress. They are mostly aristocrates, holding only authority over the other ranks and none within their current rank. They are there for numbers. They are still powerful beings, however, so do nut underestimate them.
Blessed (oo)
These are the children of the High Emperor/Empress. They hold just as much power as the Count/Countess.
Elder (oo)
They are those that have passed the age of inability to fight and have taken a more adviser like role within their rank. They are still not weak, but typically decide to do more leisure activities and stick their nose into politics less.
Second Rank
High Sage (2)
This is typicaly given to two individuals that have shown themselves in the art of medicine. They are in charge of Disciples and The Clinic.
Archpaladin (1)
This rank almost borders into the first rank as they are in charge of Templars as well as guarding the human world from their world. They are enforcers of the law, as well as making sure that the peace between Ghosts and Demons stays intact.
Templar (3)
They are in charge of three Purifiers of their choice. They take orders from the Archpaladin, enforce the laws of Demons, resolve in disputes between ghosts and demons or demons and demons, as well as be the first to arrive on scene if there so happens to be trespassers into their realm.
Third Rank
Purifier (9)
They follow the Templar, however, any order from the Archpaladin rules over the orders of a Templar. There are three Purifiers per Templar. Each group stay within a group when patrolling. Any caught patrolling alone or enforcing their power alone will result in punishment. They are chosen by the Templars and can be replaced at any time.
Disciple (5)
These are doctors and nurses under the High Sage. They run The Clinic as well as any other orders the High Sage has for them. Typically the High Sage will pick them out but will not replace them if they find their abilities to be lacking.
Peasants (oo)
These are low class demons who have yet to gain a rank. Most are typically happy living their life without having an authority figure order them about. Enjoying the freedom of doing what they desire that is within the law. Some even enjoy breaking the law.
