The Pearl Woods What a curious place
|
Birch trees overrun this place, hence the name. The Pearl Woods form a perimeter around the Arc (Arcanum) Coven's territory and is also an ideal hunting place. It is an unsettling place for trespassers. Runes are carved into the trees, the occasional magical trap has been set, and witches aren't the only dangerous creatures lurking in these woods.
Creature Sightings:
Note: Other creatures may appear in this area. Creature sightings is merely a list of who and what you are most likely to encounter.

I'm The Witch You couldn't burn
Morning light gleamed through the canopy of trees, caressing the pale witch's face with its soft rays. Amelia, or Snow as she was more commonly known, strode through the Pearl Woods as she hummed a pleasant melody to herself. The woods were alive this morning with the growls and howls of various beasts, but Snow seemed unbothered by this.
The albino woman was making her rounds through the woods. She did this every so often, checking the various traps and spells she had set up throughout this place. The creatures living here had grown accustomed to her presence and since they weren't the targets of her spells, they seldom paid her any attention.
Snow paused at a tree, tracing her fingertips over the protection spell she had etched into its bark. She murmured something under her breath and the etchings glowed, as if invigorated by her words. Spells gradually weakened over time, especially if people were tampering with them, so she was mindful to renew them every now and then.
Though the magic would be bothersome for a human, vampire, werewolf, or some such thing, the spells weren't particularly troublesome for a witch and Snow intended it to be this way. Since the absence of her mentor, Snow had grown lonely out here. She hoped witches would eventually find their way to this place.

Felix usually wouldn't go venturing out this far into such a new place just yet. He would take time to learn each route, listen to the tree's rustle as the wind caught them and hear the trickle of the water as it rushed down the streams. However he wanted to get away from town and Pearl Woods was the easiest place to go at the moment. He felt confident in protecting himself, he was armed with physical strength and powers, there wasn't much that could harm the man. His feet trudged through the old leaves as he tried watching the scenery around him to make sure no human or supernatural was follow the warlock. Felix leaned against a tree for a moment to catch his breath and look around... growls, howls and more could be heard from where he stood whatever was in here wasn't liking his presence. Felix narrowed his eyes as he saw a white figure that moved gracefully throughout the woods, was she not worried about these creatures? He huffed and watched her for a moment before taking on step towards her location and instantly he was caught in a trap. Felix shouted in anger as he was lifted into the air and caught into a large paracord like net. "Hey! Is this damn your doing lady?" He didn't have a knife to cut through the thick fabric but he might be able to use his powers.. how was he so stupid that he got caught in her trap? He wasn't paying attention - that was obvious. I'm The Witch You couldn't burn
Snow's crimson eyes shot in Felix's direction as she heard one of her traps being activated. "Hey! Is this damn thing your doing lady?" A smirk played itself upon the witch's lips as she approached, deliberately taking her time to reach him. "Looks like the fly is caught in my web," she said in a tone laced with amusement. She stopped a few paces from Felix, her inquisitive eyes studying him. Her expression shifted from smugness to genuine surprise when she realized he wasn't human.
"Are you a warlock?" she asked, her voice a blend of curiosity and excitement. She hastily cut him down from the trap and began peppering him with questions. "How did you find this place? Was it an accident or- Oh! Are you looking for other witches? I have a coven here!" she exclaimed. The more she spoke, the more it became apparent that no one else had come by here in some time.
